Sweet little strategy game I found online.

Time to revamp the ol’ WordPress blog a little – maybe!!! July 5, 2011 at 12:21 pm

Ok, so I haven’t blogged in over a year.  An abundance of Life has happened since the last post (which was my 12 year anniversary).  We’ve now celebrated number 13 and both kids have aged another year Jacob is 7 and Julia is 6.

So I’m not sure exactly what I’m going to do with this now.  I haven’t decided yet if I want to keep the WordPress blog or transfer over to tumblr.  Tumblr does seem to be a little more along the lines of how I ‘contribute’ to the internet, basically re-posting of interesting, cool, or geeky things I find in my daily perusals.  There are links, videos, and pics on there.  Check it out troysims.tumblr.com.  I’m also on twitter now: @DragonPrez.  And I’ve created an about.me page!  All that to say I may be only contributing original posts here every now and then, thoughts about God, Gadgets, Games and Geekery.

Until next time (hopefully will be sooner than a year)

My plan….. January 20, 2009 at 4:50 pm

Here’s the plan for troysims.com. I have a couple of big posts I’m working on. The first will be a posting of my favorite web games, with links, and small blurbs. The second post will be a Top 20 favorite games over all platforms: -web, pc, xbox, playstation, etc. etc. etc.

After those two big posts are completed, my plan is to become more consistent with content. I was thinking about having a weekly geeky youtube video, a weekly web game, a weekly post on what God’s doing in my life, and throw in a few gadget reviews whenever I get a new gadget. Let me know what you think?

I can’t believe December is already here!!!! December 1, 2008 at 11:52 am

December is the last month of the year, and it’s today!!! I can’t believe it.  This year has gone by so fast. It seems like it was just alst week that Julia was born or the week before and D’Anna was pregnant!  It’s crazy!

So this past weekend was Thanksgiving and we had a wonderful time!  We went to Abilene to spend Thanksgiving day with my parents and then on Friday went to Big Springs to spend it with D’Anna’s parents.  It was good family time.  Jacob really enjoyed spending time with his Grandmere and Papa (my parents), his Aunt Tami (my sis) and Memaw (my grandmother), his Grandma and Papaw (my in-laws), his aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Julia was in heaven, she was held the entire time and had people talking and playing with her.  She was such a cutie and she’s such a great baby.  It was a lot of fun!

Hope everyone else had as great of a Thanksgiving as I did.

R.I.P. – Ali ‘the cat’ Sims November 25, 2008 at 5:45 pm

Ali had to go to sleep yesterday and not wake up.  She’s been a part of my family since I met D’Anna.  Ali was about two when she was given to D’Anna before we met.  So she was around 15 or 16 years old.  She’s always been a feisty cat and she’s had a reputation as ‘difficult to deal with’ from more than one vet.

The one and only Ali.

She developed a tumor on her neck about a year and half ago.  It grew until it was about baseball size.  We had to bandage it and put a sock over her head to keep her from scratching the tumor and making it bleed.  She still had lot’s of spunk up until about 3 or 4 months ago and she started loosing lots of weight and become less and less feisty, becoming lethargic over the last week.  She’s had a few more tumors come up and started to walk with a noticeable limp.  She was having trouble eating because of the tumor not from lack of trying though.

Jacob loved her very much and we had “the talk” with him Sudnay night about Ali dying.  It was not the easiest conversation but he seemed to understand.  He loved on her some yesterday morning and held her a little before she was put to sleep..

Ali being loved by Jacob.... Jacob Loved Ali!

We will miss you Ali!
